De l’or dans les mains, Field Visit

At the International Biennale of Arts and Crafts, the association De l’or dans les mains welcomed school groups for sessions discovering manual trades. Leather goods, straw marquetry, chasing, gilding, weaving… Around ten trades were represented. As with their secondary school sessions, pupils were able to try three different trades during the morning:

• Feather artisan — creating a card decorated with feathers,
• Leather goods maker — designing a small leather coin purse,
• Straw marquetry artist — making a straw marquetry pattern.

In addition to their hands-on sessions, they had the opportunity to visit the biennale’s stands. A concrete approach to helping them discover a wide range of artistic trades!
