MuMo – Art explora
Art in the territories.
The MuMo was founded in 2011 by Ingrid Brochard to make contemporary creation accessible to those excluded from it, from the youngest age, by sharing an artistic and aesthetic experience in the territories.
The association now has three active touring trucks: one disseminating works from the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (CNAP) and the Fonds Régionaux d’Art Contemporain (FRAC), the second designed in partnership with the Centre Pompidou to circulate exclusively the Center’s collections, and the last dedicated to art-house cinema. These three museum-trucks travel the roads to settle for a few weeks in territories lacking cultural offerings throughout France, and disseminate the history of works thanks to the presence of locally trained cultural mediators.
Since 2011, the Mobile Museum has reached 250,000 visitors, half of whom live in villages of less than 3,000 inhabitants or in priority urban districts. Nearly one in three children had never been to a museum before, and more than 500 works have been shown to the public.
Milk for Good contributed to the financing of the first tours of the MuMo x Centre Pompidou truck from 2021 to 2023.
