Children are the present and future of the world.

UNICEF – standing for United Nations Children’s Fund – is a United Nations agency, established in 1946, headquartered in New York, United States. Its mission is to defend children’s rights, meet their essential needs, and support their full development across the world.

Priority is given to the most vulnerable children, particularly those affected by war, natural disasters, extreme poverty, and all forms of violence or exploitation. UNICEF also responds to emergencies in coordination with United Nations bodies, major humanitarian organisations, and national governments.

Climate change, armed conflicts, deadly epidemics… children face a wide spectrum of crises that are as violent as they are complex. At the heart of humanitarian emergencies, UNICEF teams are mobilised at all times, in more than 190 countries and territories, for every child.

As part of its annual emergency support, Milk for Good supported UNICEF’s actions on behalf of Ukrainian children in 2022 (following the outbreak of the armed conflict with Russia) and Turkish children in 2023 (following the earthquake).
