Orange Rouge
Bringing together young people with disabilities and contemporary artists.
For thirty years, in view of an exhibition, Orange Rouge has been initiating the creation of a collective work by these two audiences.
This unique experience, created by Corinne Digard in 1994, shakes up artistic and educational codes and reveals the talents and personalities of adolescents. Orange Rouge thus embodies several strong wishes of its founder: to pay particular attention to these adolescents, to provoke unique interactions between worlds that rarely meet, and to invite the human into artistic research to create differently.
The projects offered by Orange Rouge take the form of artistic practice workshops and cultural outings, aimed at young people aged 11 to 15 enrolled in ULIS classes and located in areas often lacking cultural offerings. Each workshop, designed in advance by the artists, comprises at least 40 hours of work with the adolescents, spread over a period of 2 to 8 months during the school year. They are the subject of an exhibition open to the public and designed by an invited curator once the works are completed.
Since 2006, nearly 3,400 adolescents with disabilities and 198 contemporary artists have collaborated to create nearly 200 works, exhibited in 14 contemporary art venues. In 2024, Orange Rouge deployed 18 projects throughout Île-de-France.
Milk for Good supports three artistic projects each year carried out in three Île-de-France classes.
