De l’or dans les Mains, Field Visit

The endowment fund visited teachers and pupils at a secondary school in the 12th arrondissement of Paris as part of the “I Discover Manual Trades” programme organised by the association De l’or dans les mains. Craftspeople of all kinds set up their equipment in classrooms for a day to introduce secondary school pupils to their trades. Floral art, leather goods, mosaic, tapestry, cabinetmaking… pupils were able to try each of the trades represented for one hour.
The feedback from teachers following these workshops is always equally telling: concentration, precision, perseverance, calm… The young people are transformed by this time of hands-on practice, which they prepared for in class beforehand.
