The Science Snacks at the Institut Imagine

As part of its support for science communication grants, MFG took part in the scientific workshops at Institut Imagine, designed for children as “apprentice researchers” and led andcreated by the Institute’s PhD students. It was a fun and educational journey into the genome! On the agenda:

• DNA extraction workshop: the aim of this workshop is to share fundamental knowledge about the cell, DNA, and the DNA extraction process required before any genetic test — creating a direct link to the Institute’s research activities.
• Microscope observation workshop: the aim is to show how to use a microscope, explain the value of such observations in a scientific laboratory context, and describe how the slides being studied are made.
