De l’or dans les mains, Field Visit
Milk for Good met the association De l’or dans les mains during one of its half-days at a secondary school in northern Paris. Ten craftspeople were present, introducing their trades in a plenary session before joining groups of five or six pupils for a hands-on workshop.
While attention was fragile during the plenary, the hands-on sessions revealed pupils who were focused on their tasks, conscientious and engaged. Chasing, sculpture with reclaimed materials, basketry, mosaic, ceramics… We could see what many teachers report: pupils are captivated by working with their hands during these practical sessions, and some discover qualitiesor skills they had never previously explored.
A wonderful initiative by the association, demonstrating the full value of reintegrating manual activities into the school curriculum.
