EPIC, Immersive Trip to Mumbai to Meet Three Indian Organisations: Apnalaya, Prerana and Sneha
A memorable journey with the EPIC teams and donors into the heart of Mumbai’s informal neighbourhoods, where the three organisations supported by MFG work daily to improve the lives of thousands of women and children in extreme poverty. Apnalaya tackles multidimensional poverty holistically through the commitment of 130 staff and 7,000 volunteers across three programmes: Health / Education and Livelihoods / Citizenship and Advocacy. Sneha (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) breaks the cycle of poor health for women and children through 500 staff and 6,300 volunteers across three programmes: Maternal and Child Health / Adolescent Empowerment and Sexuality / Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children. Prerana protects children from trafficking and prostitution through mothers’ empowerment, operating in Mumbai’s informal neighbourhoods and providing shelter for children through “Night Care Centres.”
