Art therapy as support for children victims of conflict.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elisecare was created in 2013 at the initiative of Elise Boghossian, originally from Armenia and a doctor in Chinese medicine. In partnership with local hospitals, overwhelmed by the urgency of relieving the pain of the wounded in the absence of medicines, she offered the help of acupuncture. Its tangible effectiveness, immediate results and low cost multiplied demand. The influx of Syrian, then Iraqi refugees, led her to found the association.<\/p>\n

The reality on the ground is disastrous: eight out of ten internally displaced people cannot find a place in a camp, which constitutes a major obstacle to their security and access to care. The association travels through conflict zones with its former refurbished buses and has set up fixed dispensaries in some regions to provide medical care and psychological support to survivors. The association’s teams are trained locally, their areas of expertise are varied (general medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, dental care, nursing, medical analyses) and consultations and care are free.<\/p>\n

In ten years of activity, Elisecare has intervened in six countries, with 300,000 people, thanks to fifteen care structures (mobile clinics and dispensaries), and many art therapy sessions provided in Iraq and for the past year in Armenia.<\/p>\n
